A collection of four Charles Dickens classics from the prestigious New Century Library series, published by Thomas Nelson and Sons circa 1900-1910. These pocket-sized treasures feature the sought-after India paper printing and beautiful burgundy limp leather bindings with gilt floral decorations running down the spines.
Included:
David Copperfield (Vol. VIII)
Little Dorrit
A Tale of Two Cities
Sketches by Boz (Vol XII)
Condition Details:
These books show their age with authentic vintage character. The burgundy leather covers are experiencing significant flaking and deterioration, particularly along the spines and edges – please see detailed photos. The gilt lettering and floral spine decorations remain partially visible. Internally, the pages have foxing but are intact with beautiful age-appropriate patina. The silk ribbon markers are present. The bindings show wear consistent with their 100+ year age.
Perfect for vintage book collectors, Dickens enthusiasts, or anyone who appreciates the beauty of antique leather-bound literature. These volumes would display beautifully alongside vintage opera glasses (as shown) in a Victorian-inspired study or library.
